"People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. I don't find myself saying 'Soften the orange a bit in the right hand corner.' I don't try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds."
- Carl Rogers
Photographing families is one of my biggest loves. There's nothing quite like witnessing the bond they share. I feel like connection and family are at the heart of us all, so to me, that makes it one of the most important things to document. And I don't want to document your family in a way that just shows what you currently look like. I want to capture your connections, your personalities and the love you share. I want you to look back years from now and remember what life was like right now. I want these images to be ones you can sit down and flip through and tell the stories of what was going on in your lives at the time and even what memories your photoshoot created.
Because of my style, I only take immediate families. No extended families. Want to add in Grandma and Grandpa or some other super important/close family members? Let's chat!
If I haven't made it one-million-percent obvious already, connection is at the heart of everything I do. It truly makes my world go round. So, just like with families, I think capturing the love you share with your significant other is soo important. And not just for you, but for your children, too. It also happens to be one of the relationships that gets pushed to the back-burner when it comes to getting photos! So, make a date out of it. Plan something that suits the two of you. Act like I'm not there and just enjoy each other's company. Let's capture the essence of your love.
My Motherhood Unfiltered sessions are basically my baby. The idea came to me in 2018 when I was thinking about how little us moms get photographed with our babies. We're such a huge part of their stories, so how can we not document that?!
Raise your hand if you're the "photographer" in your family, Mom. Raise your hand again if pretty much all the photos you have with your littles are selfies. Lastly, raise your hand if your mama heart wishes it could flip back through memories at all stages of your baby's lives, from newborn through adulthood. I don't know about you, but I raised my hand for all three, and that's what pushed me to create these sessions for all you amazing mamas. Motherhood needs to be celebrated. Our kids need these memories as much as we do. And mama, you deserve to be celebrated!
I believe that photos for our businesses should be more than just headshots. You deserve to be seen for who you are. You deserve to have images that represent your brand, but also you, because heck...we're all part of our brand, aren't we?
So, let's get together for coffee and chat about all the things that make your business yours. What are your colors? What is your brand all about? What does running this business look like behind the scenes? What kind of content do you want to be able to have for your website and your social media? Let's talk about all the things and then get together to photograph them! Let me help you take your business to the next level.
Pst - fellow photographers. This is for you, too. Headshots and some behind-the-scenes, anyone?!
People often don't realize that I photograph all things baby, too! You won't get your typical, super-posed and planned out maternity session, though. What you will get is photos that showcase your relationship/s as they are now, before baby comes. You'll get the excitement, the anticipation, the love and of course the adorable belly.
Fresh 48 sessions are so. much. fun. They're something I wish I had done after my boys were born since my family kind of slacked in the photos department (for me). LOL. What are they exactly? They are sessions that take place at the hospital, within 48 hours after birth. Those first few days/weeks/months can be such a blur, and these sessions are the perfect way to document that perfect, sweet newness that's in the air after baby is born.
A new baby is nothing short of a miracle. It always amazed me how wrapped up I was in my babies. Their little fingers, how their legs folded up exactly how they were positioned in my belly, all their features that I did (and didn't) expect and everything else. But my gosh...if you asked me to recall those early days, I'm not sure I'd be able to very clearly. And this is why in-home newborn sessions are my favorite way to document new babies.
I love to focus on baby, yes, but what makes my heart turn to mush more than anything is seeing the raw, unfiltered emotion that unfolds in front of me during these sessions. Yes, I want you to remember all their little details, but I also want you to remember life, as it is right at this moment. And I want all of you comfortable, cozy, relaxed and where you feel most at home. Post-pardum is hard enough, so I want to be a fly on the wall and document it in all it's messy, beautiful glory.
I wanted a sort of "studio" that I could use year around, and we happened to have this 1968 camper just hanging out in our driveway. So, I came up with a design and then my husband and I got to work gutting and renovating the entire thing! I created this space to be extremely flexible. Nearly everything can be rearranged or replaced. Its colors are very neutral, so it can work for so many different asthetics.
So, yes, this space will be available for full & half sessions of all kinds! Families (will have to be semi-small due to limited space), newborn, children, couples, maternity, business branding, etc. You name it, we can do it! Well, most likely. If you're dying to have a session in here, mention it at your consult and we can discuss if it'll work for you.
